This week in Maths we have been learning about Capacity/Volume. The definition of ‘Capacity’ is the ability to hold, absorb, orย contain, another way of saying this is the Maximum amount that can be contained or produced. The word ‘Capacity’ is a noun. We were in pairs but not all of us, I chose to work with Breeze. Our question was ‘What depth of container using the same size paper would give us the most Capacity/Volume?’. Next, we were told to make a prediction, we both predicted that deeper containers hold more because the sides are higher. Then, we were told to make a paper container again but this time instead of using 2 cm by 2 cm like last time we had to change the center meters, we(Breeze and I) both agreed on 6 cm by 6 cm. We made the container and we had to measure the Height, Length, and Width. Our containers Height, Length, and Width was, Height – 6 cm, Length – 17.5 cm, and our Width wasย 9.1. Next step was to add the height, width, and length all together to get the Volume. I think our Volume was 955.5, Bye!
