Today for Writing we were learning about a type of poem called the Clerihew poem. Clerihew poems have a rhyme pattern that is AABB, in Clerihew poems there is only 4 lines as well. First we watched a video explaining what a Clerihew poem was, and that it had to be about someone famous. I chose Tupac Shakur because he was on my favorite rapper list, did you know that his last name Shakur means ‘thankful’? I changed my mind so much on how I was going to start my Poem, I then ended up starting it off like ‘Surly y’all heard about the famous New York star’ because Tupac was a famous rapper and he was from New York like Biggie. We were also told that it’s the last words have to rhyme with each other. I also found out that he returned to the stage as a hologram in 2012 at the Coachellaย Music Festival via hologram. Anywaysย here is my Clerihew Poem:
